VIJAYAWADA: The state government will host a virtual dialogue between CEOs and ministers on Friday. The policy roundtable initiated by the AP government, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), will serve as a high-level platform to explore various avenues of investment in the electric vehicle (EV) segment and support leaders in industry in developing and implementing plans and programs to achieve climate goals, including net zero economic growth and green mobility.

As the state plans to expand the EV landscape, accelerating EV adoption, transitioning the state to clean mobility and being carbon neutral is one of the roundtable’s goals. . In a statement on Thursday, Industry Minister Gudivada Amarnath said the high-level virtual dialogue between CEOs and ministers makes PA the first-ever state in India associated with the network initiative WEF’s “WEFMoving India” on “Shaping the future of mobility”.

As the state government plans to attract investments worth $4 billion in the electric vehicle segment, the high-level virtual meeting organized in conjunction with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) and WEF-Moving India, will see a total of over 60 companies.

Considering the myriad of benefits covered by green mobility, which include better air quality control, emission control, and economic and employment potential, Andhra Pradesh’s transition to e-mobility is going to be a key part of India’s low-carbon development push, the industries minister has said.

As the government plans to make Andhra Pradesh the primary destination for the development and manufacture of batteries, hydrogen generation and storage, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) as well as fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), of electric vehicle components and charging equipment not only for India but also for the world, this meeting will act as another step to pave the way for sustainable transportation in the state, he said. -he assures.
